Writing WordPress blog posts with WP Assist
WP Assist can write complete, structured blog posts for your WordPress site based on nothing more than a plain English description of what you want. The AI drafts the post, gives it an SEO-friendly title and structure, and saves it directly to your WordPress as a draft — ready for you to review before publishing.
How to ask for a blog post
Open the WP Assist chat for your WordPress site and describe the post you want. Be as specific or as brief as you like — the more context you give, the more targeted the result.
Example prompts:
- "Write a blog post about the top 5 benefits of hiring a local accountant."
- "Write a 600-word post for my plumbing website targeting the keyword 'emergency plumber Manchester'."
- "Write a friendly, conversational post about how to choose the right SEO agency. Include a FAQ at the end."
What WP Assist generates
For each blog post, WP Assist creates:
- A clear, keyword-rich post title
- An engaging introduction
- A structured body with subheadings (H2s and H3s)
- A conclusion or call to action
- Optional FAQ section if requested
The post is saved as a WordPress draft by default so you can review it before it goes live.
Tip: After WP Assist writes the post, you can ask for changes in the same conversation: "Make the intro shorter" or "Add a section about pricing". The AI remembers the context of what it just wrote.
Publishing the post
By default, new blog posts are saved as drafts in WordPress. To publish immediately, just include it in your request: "Write a post about X and publish it". You can also ask WP Assist to publish an existing draft at any time.
