Running SEO audits on your WordPress site
WP Assist can perform an SEO audit on any page of your WordPress site, giving you an instant, plain-English summary of your SEO health. If you use Yoast SEO or Rank Math, WP Assist reads your actual SEO scores and reports on what's causing them. You can audit a single page or ask for a site-wide overview.
How to request an SEO audit
Open the WP Assist chat and ask:
- "Do an SEO audit on my homepage."
- "Check the SEO health of my services page."
- "Which pages on my site have the worst SEO?"
- "Audit all my blog posts and tell me what needs work."
What a WP Assist SEO audit covers
Each WordPress SEO audit from WP Assist checks:
- SEO score — from Yoast SEO (red/orange/green) or Rank Math (0–100 score), where installed
- Focus keyword — is one set? Does it appear in the title, headings, and body?
- Meta description — is one present? Is it a good length? Does it include the keyword?
- Page title — does it contain the target keyword?
- Content overview — basic signals like content length
Act on the results: After an audit, you can ask WP Assist to fix any issues in the same conversation. For example: "Write a meta description for this page" or "Update the focus keyword to [keyword]" — WP Assist will make the changes directly in WordPress.
Works with or without an SEO plugin
WP Assist works best when you have Yoast SEO or Rank Math installed, as these plugins provide detailed SEO scores. If you don't have an SEO plugin, WP Assist can still review your page content and flag obvious issues.
