Editing existing WordPress content
WP Assist can update any existing page or post on your WordPress site through the chat. Whether it's a small wording change, a full rewrite of a section, or adding new content to an existing page, just describe what you want and WP Assist makes the change directly in WordPress.
How to ask for an edit
You don't need to know post IDs or URLs — just describe the page by name:
- "Update the headline on my about page to 'Ten years of building great websites'."
- "Add a paragraph about our refund policy to the bottom of my shop page."
- "The services section on my homepage sounds too formal — rewrite it in a friendlier tone."
- "Change all mentions of 'clients' to 'customers' on my about page."
- "My contact page CTA says 'Get in touch' — change it to 'Book a free call'."
What WP Assist edits
WP Assist can read and update:
- WordPress page and post main content (block editor and classic editor)
- Page and post titles
- ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) text, textarea, and WYSIWYG fields
- SEO metadata (focus keyword, meta description) via Yoast SEO or Rank Math
Changes are logged: Every edit is recorded in the WP Assist activity log with a before and after view. If you ever want to check what changed, or revert to the previous version, the log has everything you need.
Before WP Assist makes a change
For significant edits, WP Assist will summarise what it's about to do and ask you to confirm before proceeding. This is especially true for full rewrites or changes that affect multiple sections.
