Install the WP Assist WordPress plugin

The WP Assist WordPress plugin is a lightweight connector that allows WP Assist to read and update your WordPress content securely. It adds a single settings page to your WordPress admin where you paste your API key. Once installed and activated, your site is ready to manage with AI.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or later
• PHP 7.4 or later
• The WordPress REST API must be enabled (it is by default)

Install from the WordPress plugin directory

This is the recommended method:

1. Log in to your WordPress admin.
2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
3. In the search box, type WP Assist.
4. Click Install Now next to the WP Assist plugin.
5. Once installed, click Activate.
6. Go to Settings → WP Assist and paste in your API key.

Install by uploading a .zip file

If you prefer to install manually:

1. Download the plugin .zip file from the WordPress plugin directory.
2. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
3. Choose the .zip file and click Install Now, then Activate.
